Completed Hydrangea

This is the finished Hydrangea flower after the details (color, leaves, etc) have been added and all of the individual buds assembled. It is very impressive when it is on top of a cake. It gets all of the attention :)

Individual Hydrangea Buds

These are what I am currently working on - the individual buds that will make up a hydrangea flower. You can see how they all begins in the picture below.

Hydrangea centers

Each hydrangea bud is made by first forming the small center. Then you attach the petals. The result is shown in the picture above. It takes 18 to 21 individual buds to form one hydrangea flower. It is time consuming but the end result is worth it!
